I sent a letter to them months ago-to ask why my pension had been reduced by £5.45 a week—no answer.
I telephoned to ask –they didn’t know– but would phone me when they did.
I asked for a letter rather than a phone call –no letter.
I sent an email –no reply , so I still don’t know but am managing with £5.45 less per week and I live alone.

You need to take a pension out, just to find that out!

go to the citizens advise bureau, they will be able to help you and will probably get in touch with the pension service on your behalf.

See someone at your local C.A.B they will give you free, good advice

Send a very formal letter of complaint advising them of the situation, the fact that you have requested written confirmation previously and give them a set time, say 7 days to respond or you will be forced to take legal action. That usually wakes them up.

Pookie’s answer sounds good to me!……that should wake the idle sods up!

Pookie is right except you need to send the letter either recorded delivery or deliver it be hand and get a receipt.
If you can, quote dates you wrote and telephoned and write COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT in red capitals on the envelope.
