I live about four miles out of a town that has no taxi or bus service. My husband will be going back to college this Fall, and I can’t drive because of an eye condition that I have. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get to and from work? I know I can ask for rides, but I don’t know how well it will work out to ask people to come to my house and take me to work— for four years in a row! Please answer only if you have a real idea.
I should add to this that my hours will probably differ from day to day because I’ll be starting work at Wal-Mart in a couple weeks.

If there is a carpool that you can get into, that would be one very good idea. With the gas prices the way they are, I’m sure there are lots of people who would be willing to include you, even if you aren’t able to drive. Check with other classmates, and see what you can come up with. Also, check in your local newspaper. Sometimes (at least where I live) there are ads looking for people who are wanting to “share a ride” to school or work or whatever. If nothing else, place an ad yourself, and see what comes of it. Good Luck!

You should ask a co-worker. If you help with the gas, it shouldn’t be a problem.
