I’m trying to look into medical transcription and a friend of mine went ahead with this by learning on her own and finding doctors who wanted her services. I’d rather have some sort of certificate or training from a recognized institution behind me before I venture out in building my own business this way. Where did you get your training and how did you then get started? I’d really like to hear from real people who are doing this and making $ – not someone in some scam school who can’t graduate and find work and not just someone sending me miscellaneous links – there are tons of transcription scams and bad companies who put links all over the internet. That’s why I’m having trouble with my research to be honest. If you are a doctor who uses a medical transcriptionist – what would you look for and what sort of training would you prefer an individual have?

I was the victim of violent assault in September of 2005. I was admitted to the hospital for a month and thereafter have been living in an assisted living facility. Shortly before I entered the hospital, I reported my Bank of America VISA card lost or stolen. Around Oct. 20, 2006, a new card came in to my possession, however, before Sept. 2005, I owed about $700 and I discovered last night that I owed about $1400. I also discovered that my interest rate was 32%. I was told there was a Victim’s Assistance office and last night and this morning, after 2-1/2 hours on the phone, I was told that an officer from that office was going to answer the phone and talk to me. Could such an officer communicate with me now on-line?

I just called Pizza Hut for a delivery, called the local number I call about every two weeks, I am not in Alabama…I live 3 miles from my ” in the country Pizza Hut.” Guess What I got an answer from a Pizza Hut Service in ALABAMA with a woman with an accent that was not from anywhere in the States. Has anyone else ever had this happen. I have been dialing this number for ten years and never had this happen. Gotta love outsourcing. I think I just ordered my pizza from someone in Bangladesh. A new one for me…Know you think this ought to be under dining…BUT I THINK IT OUGHT TO BE UNDER POLITICS. So the question is HAS THIS HAPPENED TO YOU I mean in calling what you think is in your area and gotten someone WHO HAS NO IDEA where you are calling from?
Oh and so you know she had to “connect” me with the number I had called to begin with. How much money can that save?

Yupchagee…you may not have seen the 20/20 on outsourcing calls such as this. They learn the dialect for different parts of America and speak in that dialect stating they are from AL, GA, NY etc. The people trained to take these jobs are extensively trained to “loose their accents” and speak English….next time you call one of the Major hotel chains for a reservation ask what is a good local restaurant nearby, suddenly they will admit they are not in that state. If you ask what state they are in…when they make one up, simply ask oh really do you have a “Pizza Hut” or any other American known chain nereby and they will not know.

I work as an assistant. My duties entail reviewing booking forms submitted by the client and screening the client by verifying their employment, that they are who they say they are, checking databases to make sure they are not criminals or bad clients as reported in the database by other escorts, booking the time in the escorts personal calendar. For this I am paid a flat rate fo reach client she sees. I do not engage in any solicitation nor do I answer any questions that have anything to do with sex for money or the services she offers…what are my legal liabilities here? I work for her, not the other way around.

For the record, there are many phone answering and booking services for escorts popping up. To date, none have had legal problems.

Is it possible to be employed as a secretary whose job responsibilities come to typing, filing, paper work, and answering telephone calls right after graduation from high school or no? When I am talking about ANY secretarial work….I MEAN ANY! whether its medical, a small time business, a corporation, law offices, government, county, or any other places. If not….what can I do if I currently seek that kind of profession or part time job? I have prior military service but what I did in the military has nothing to do with secretarial work.
