i got this in an e- mail today?

medical answering services

i think its brilliant, lengthy but very good, what do you lot think of it……..

Don’t you just love it! Wish I had his sarcastic sense of humour!! …………………

email sent to the force, lengthy but absolutely brilliantly written…..

Anonymised correspondence from a member of the public

Dear Sir/madam/automated telephone answering service

Having spent the past twenty minutes waiting for someone at Leith police station to pick up a telephone I have decided to abandon the idea and try e-mailing you instead. Perhaps you would be so kind as to pass this message on to your colleagues in Leith by means of smoke signal, carrier pigeon or ouji board.

As I’m writing this e-mail there are eleven failed medical experiments (I think you call them youths) in West Cromwell Street which is just off Commercial Street in Leith. Six of them seem happy enough to play a game which involves kicking a football against an iron gate with the force of a meteorite. This causes an earth shattering CLANG! which rings throughout the entire building. This game is now in it’s third week and as I am unsure how the scoring system works, I have no idea if it will end any time soon.

The remaining five walking abortions are happily rummaging through several bags of rubbish and items of furniture that someone has so thoughtfully dumped beside the wheelie bins. One of them has found a saw and is setting about a discarded chair like a beaver on speed. I fear that it’s only a matter of time before they turn their limited attention to the bottle of calor gas that is lying on it’s side between the two bins. If they could be relied on to only blow their own arms and legs off then I would happily leave them to it. I would even go so far as to lend them the matches. Unfortunately they are far more likely to blow up half the street with them and I’ve just finished decorating the kitchen.

What I suggest is this, after replying to this e-mail with worthless assurances that the matter is being looked into and will be dealt with, why not leave it until the one night of the year (probably bath night) when there are no mutants around then drive up the street in a panda car before doing a three point turn and disappearing again. This will of course serve no other purpose than to remind us what policemen actually look like.

I trust that when I take a claw hammer to the skull of one of these throwbacks you’ll do me the same courtesy of giving me a four month head start before coming to arrest me.

I remain sir, your obedient servant

When can a charity/not for profit organisation pay fulltime workers?

medical answering services

I have been operating a small fund for the environment for some time now and all the money has been actually coming from my own pocket mainly.
Now we are getting larger and more sophisticated, I dont want to do anything wrong by the ATO so I would like to know when a charity can start to pay some higher workers who do fulltime hours and contractors who provide major services?
I know the money or profit as such (takings/gifts etc) cannot be distributed to the owners or members but are you allowed to legally pay a fulltime worker?
I am led to beleive that MBF medical for example is a non profit organisation but they surely pay their staff a wage to answer calls etc?
When does this become legal to do or is it ok at any level of funding or any size of charity to start paying fulltime workers who have no part of ownership etc of the charity?

Many thanks for any informed answer.
Mick

hypnosis, has anyone had it done and does it work - see DETAILS please before answering?

medical answering services

Hypnosis, as far as I am aware, is NOT where the hypnotherapist puts you in a trance and brainwashes or controls you. That’s all poppycock and movie-style hypnosis, therapeutic hypnosis works on dealing with subconscious issues. It’s very healing and there’s medical proof of it working, so that’s not the issue.
my question is this….. is the REAL type of hypnotherapy helpful to YOU, did YOU have a good experience?

has anyone done it to break addictions or for weight loss?

I am signed up for a 5 week hypnotherapy service and I want to hear other’s success stories/bad experiences.

Need to “interview” someone in a medical field?

medical answering services

Here’s my assignment. I need to interview someone in a field that interests me (ASAP). You do not have to answer all of the questions, but any answers would help. Please tell me your field and how long you have been in that field.

Have the person answer as many of the following questions:

• How did you get your current job?

• What kind of education/training do you need for your current job?

• What is a typical day for you?

• Do you belong to any professional organizations as part of your job?

• Do you like your job?

• Do you do any type of community service?

• What is the best job you have ever had?

• What about it made it a great job?

• What is the worst job you have ever had?

• What about it made it a bad job for you?

• Given a choice, would you rather be the boss? Why or Why not?

ROBERT BURNS, AP Military Writer
By Robert Burns, AP Military

WASHINGTON - The Army said Thursday that the two-star general in charge of Walter Reed Army Medical Center has been relieved of command following disclosures about inadequate treatment of wounded soldiers.
In a brief announcement, the Army said service leaders had “lost trust and confidence” in Weightman’s leadership abilities “to address needed solutions for soldier outpatient care.” He had headed Walter Reed since Aug. 25, 2006Army and the Defense Department launched a series of investigations after The Washington Post published a series of stories last week that documented problems in soldiers’ housing and in the medical bureaucracy at Walter Reed, which has been called the Army’s premier caregiver for soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So they fire him. Not even there a full year. But we all know that the problems were long-standing (see more before answering)

Is LASEK/LASIK safe? How far do you think it will advance within the next six years or so? All answers welcome

medical answering services

Well it’s 2008 now and there are companies all over the world that are offering the revolutionary treatment. I have heared that the best treatment can be found in Europe. My question is i hear that treatment companies have successfully treated many patients with long lasting results (now with the safer method of using “Intralase” to create the Corneal flap).
One company i found even advertised on a reputable website of an opticians. My question is if i was to have surgery at the age of 23 or 24 (which is why i refer to 6 / 7 years from now) how far advanced is the technology likely to be? Medical science is improving all the time and i really need this surgury if i am to make the grade for my dream job in the police service in the future.

Answers and opinions from Opticians, patients and success/ failure stories (with prescription strength details before and after) all welcome…

P.S. Does the Corneal flap heal? I have heared a scary story that it sometimes never heals, help pls?
