I am looking for a REAL work-from-home job?
I am currently doing medical messaging from home (dr.’s answering service), but I am looking more along the lines of medical billing or data entry. I have 2 babies at home and would really prefer to stay home to raise them. And NO, I do not want any sales, commission only, pay first, phony jobs!!!! Thanks to all who can help.
PS: I don’t want any pyramids, licking envelopes, refer-a-friend, sell avon, ameriplan, etc, answer surveys kinda nonsense. I am talking about working for a normal company, but at home.

Do you have to pay a medical bill if you’re unsatisfied with service?
I have a bill from a consult with a doctor’s assistant. I had to talk to this person before the doctor would decide if he would take my case or not. I never talked to the doc, but they are billing me 200.00 for something I could have filled out myself on paper. This person just asked questions and wrote down my answers. Then after the visit was over, they decided to tell me they didn’t accept my insurance.
Isn’t there a way to refuse payment?
There has to be some sort of checks and balances. Otherwise, doctors could get away with anything. Why should I pay 200 dollars and receive nothing in return? What if every doctor, dentist, hair stylist, oil change guy charged a fee to have an assistant fill out a questionaire for you? There has to be some protection against unfair practices.
I talked to the office and they said this is their policy. I just don’t consider this a consult, since the doctor may not even wish to take the case. This was a question answer session. No feedback on possibilities whatsoever, just, “If the doctor decides to accept you as a patient the nwe will call you.”

Free medical consultation service Menifee, California? (maybe by phone)?
Hi, I have a skin problem (red spots on my legs) but I’ve just arrived into USA and don’t have medical insurance yet (and cost of treatment is too expensive for me to afford)… Is there a service nearby or in Menifee, California where I can ask a question about this problem and get an answer free of charge or virtually free of charge?
If it is a phone service somewhere in the USA that will also do. Please, help me! =(

If you do medical transcription - please answer?
I’m trying to look into medical transcription and a friend of mine went ahead with this by learning on her own and finding doctors who wanted her services. I’d rather have some sort of certificate or training from a recognized institution behind me before I venture out in building my own business this way. Where did you get your training and how did you then get started? I’d really like to hear from real people who are doing this and making $ - not someone in some scam school who can’t graduate and find work and not just someone sending me miscellaneous links - there are tons of transcription scams and bad companies who put links all over the internet. That’s why I’m having trouble with my research to be honest. If you are a doctor who uses a medical transcriptionist - what would you look for and what sort of training would you prefer an individual have?

Medical School. Where do I begin?
Medical School . Where do I begin?
So I am a junoir in high school with a 3.5 GPA and 1800 SAT.
I come from one of the top 100th public schools in the nation and can get into some pretty good undergrad programs. I want to have a general plan for my future though. I want to be a pschiatrist so Medical school will be in my future. I very much like New York city. I am extremley independent and I would have no problem going to CUNY Hunter or another cheap school, finding a roomate and getting an undergrad degree with all honors and a estimated GPA between 3.8-4.0. I want to go to a medical school in New york city. But, I could also go to a much better undergrad program , prob get a 3.7 without honors but more expensive. My family is pretty well off but I dont want them to pay for everything and if I went to a new york city school I could probably hold a job. I am very mature and can fit in with city life , dorms and all that college baggage I could live with but I can also live without.

My Uncle went to Columbia University so I might have a slight shot their. What should I do? Where should I begin? Should I go to a harder better undergrad program or a decent one that is cheaper in the city where I will probably got to medical school. I am from southern California and My uncle lives near new york and is a dentist(MD) .
I have some extra corriculars to:
CPR certification
Lifeguard
2 national titles
200 hours community service
And more……..
So what undergrad program seems like the best and smarter, better choice all around. When should I start studying for the MCATS and what are some good majors (pre-med/chem./bio ….)
