live answering service

In your country (and please state your country when you answer) when you call and get an automated answering service do you have options like Press 1 for German Press 2 for English or Press 1 for Japanese or Press 2 for English?

Is America the only country that has press 1 for English press 2 for spanish?
not complaining per say…..just wondered if American was the only that catered to another language other than our own.

I’m Swedish and I live in Germany, and even though most of the time I don’t understand half of what the telephone lady is saying, she doesn’t say anything about that.

Here in Belgium we have three official languages : Dutch, French and German. So if you phone any national administration you have to choose. Lots of companies use on top of that English internally, so there you will to choose between four languages. And if you phone any EU organisation, you will have 30+ official languages to choose from.
